What is Montessori?

Montessori is a unique approach to education that focuses on individual discovery as opposed to a lecture formatted classroom. Established by educator and doctor Maria Montessori in 1907, Montessori educational theory has been at work in over 20,000 schools worldwide over more than 100 years. That’s a lot of students!

The Montessori approach is considered revolutionary because it is based on the understanding that each person learns differently and if given the opportunity to discover rather than asked to adapt to an unnatural learning environment, we will excel. One of the many reasons that we love our jobs is that we have the daily thrill of seeing each student’s self confidence grow as learning becomes encouraging and creative.
